Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Burkina Faso, has enacted a 20% salary cut for all ministers and politicians. Remarkably, he has chosen not to receive the presidential salary himself, opting instead to keep his earnings at the level of his rank as a military captain.

In 2024, President Traore is ranked fifth among the top 10 best-performing African presidents, following the leaders of Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania, and Rwanda.

Traore assumed leadership of Burkina Faso at 36 after leading the September 2022 coup that ousted his predecessor, Paul-Henri Sandaogo. He now holds the distinction of being the youngest president in Africa and worldwide.

Burkina Faso celebrates its young and visionary leader, bringing hope and strong leadership to the nation. Congratulations to the people of Burkina Faso.
